PIAT is a man-portable anti-tank weapon developed and used by the British army during the Second World War. Its name stands for Projector, Infantry, Anti Tank. It used a 1.1kg bomb, and had an effective range of approximately 115 yards (110 m) in a direct fire anti-tank role, and 350 yards (320 m) in an indirect fire 'house-breaking' role.
